The Snowspeeder from The Empire Strikes Back is one of my favorite Star Wars ships. I've always found the faceted design and back-to-back cockpit really appealing. And it's just cool, ya know? This Technic design by drakmir rivals the UCS set for sheer awesomeness. Let's all back it on Cuusoo and get it into our hot little hands!
Season 2 of BrickNerd has begun (yeah, just the next episode, but it's a new year so what the heck). This episode we look at the LEGO Master Builder Academy Adventure Designer and the LEGO Star Wars Sith Fury Class Interceptor.
This image is of significant importance to me. Not only is it brilliant, and Star Wars related, and funny, but it was also one of the first inspiring images I found as my eyes were opening to the AFOL scene (you mean there are others like me?) This is Jek Porkins and B3-3R by the late, great Mike Crowley, AKA Count Blockula. The community lost Mike at the beginning of this year. He was an amazing artist and person. He is missed.
Lifelites (brickmodder) kicked off a contest a few days back and the response so far has been great. The challenge is to see what you can build with just 11 pieces. I particularly like these entries from Kosmas Santosa. Simplicity at it's finest.

I have to admit, the first thing I thought when I saw this MOC by Lego Junkie (after the initial "ooh" of course) was with a different color scheme and some modifications it could be Santa's Boot Fighter. I guess I've got Christmas on the brain.
I'm an original trilogy fan, everyone knows that. I do think that Jedi is the weakest of the three, but this scene was always fun. And hey, slave Leia (nuff said). markus19840420 has captured it perfectly with this large MOC.
Chris McVeigh has updated the instructions for his Star Wars inspired ornaments. Most are PaB compatible and all are adorable. Let's face it, your tree is naked without these. You don't want a naked tree do you? Aunt Doris is coming over and the neighbors can see it through the window. Go there, get these.
There were very few redeeming values in Episode 1 (none of which make Jar Jar tolerable) but one was the pod race. In fact I remember going to see it again in a theater near me and getting up and leaving after the race. This engine by Nannan Z captures the essence of the racers themselves, power and simplicity. Just two bigass engines with a seat attached, that's racing.
Everyone's getting ready for the holidays. Traditionally Thanksgiving kicks things off, but I was seeing Christmas crap in Michael's in August. Anyway, if you like football, drunk distant relatives and copious amounts of food, Thanksgiving is your day. And you only have a little more than a week to wait. Mr. Rancor couldn't wait, but thanks to DigiNik13 and this awesome picture, we can all look forward to a little gobble gobble.
I remember distinctly being 9 years old and watching this scene, my heart soaring. Then there was that moment when I thought, "hey, Chewie didn't get a medal, what the heck?"

This is a fun little vignette by Praiter Yed depicting a captured hero suspended from the top of an ice cave by a large white creature. His trusty rapier just out of reach. It all seems so familiar...
I'm not a terribly big fan of the prequels, but there are a few nuggets in them I do really like and these are one of them. I thought the concept of releasing dozens of destructive little robots on your enemy was pretty clever, and so is this build. Nice work Jason.
Yes the Monster Fighters Haunted House is nice, I even gave it five out of five Nerdlys in my latest episode. But WOW. Not only is this haunted house by markus19840420 spectacular, it's got some fun Star Wars details in it. How could I resist? Click through for loads of other pictures.
What a great MOC to follow that X-Wing. Welcome to the cockpit of the Millennium Falcon! This was built by for round four of the MocOlympics, Blake vs David.
This may have started as the UCS 7191 X-Wing, but with Teabox's modifications and this stunning display base, it has become even more awesome. It reminds me of the Icons collectible X-Wing (remember that?) but since it's LEGO it gets 1x20d nerd cred.
What better way to start off a Friday than with a cool little Star Wars MOC. This isn't the greatest photo, but I really dig these micro scale X-Wings by Miro78. The use of the doors as wings and the printed round tiles is inspired. The nose is a little funny, maybe just a cheese slope would have worked. And before anyone comments, I know and I'm sure Miro knows that the S-foils would not be in attack position while in landing mode.
I don't like you either (not really), you just watch yourself (you don't really need to), we're wanted men (actually, it's just me, and I'm not wanted), I have the death sentence on twelve systems (totally not true).
One of the more beautiful locations in the Star Wars trilogy (yes, I said trilogy) was Bespin. Realized almost exclusively through matte paintings originally, it was unique and lovely. It's too bad Han got frozen, Luke got the crap beat out of him, C-3P0 got blowed up real good and Lando went out of business (assumed). It probably put a bit of a damper on the place.
I love a good prop reproduction, and this one is sweet. The tapered barrel is especially nice, and the grip, wow. A very clean and elegant build, nice work Cole.
